I said this before and I'll say it again "I love Skullcandy products", I think this is the only brand that knows how to combine both music and style. With their very modern and artistic designs, Skullcandy really understands the youth generation.

I was invited last Saturday for the press launch of Skullcandy's newest offering to the Philippine market, the Skullcandy Crusher. Rains International Corporation excitedly launches the newest and coolest headphones model from Skullcandy at DC Mall of Asia, Pasay City.

Crusher is the newest addition to Skullcandy's coolest designed supreme sound headphones. This model was developed to bring bass technology to headphones through Sensation55 bass driver enabling this model to deliver a powerful and realistic bass experience.

This over the ear headphone comes in three plastic contour colors-red, white and black. Like the other SC supreme sound headpones, the ear cups and underside of the headband are well padded. It is very easy to carry because it can be folded down to its nylon drawstring pouch. A detachable cable serves as a remote control and microphone for mobile devices. It is also stashable, easy to fold down to its nylon drawstring pouch.

Nostalgic Day

photo from Kimnieves.com

yeah! that's me holding my paper couture headpiece!.
This headpiece is for Gaga! hahaha

There's only one industry where I can see myself being and I couldn't imagine myself not being part of the outrageous and creative world of the fashion industry. Last Tuesday, I was invited by I-Academy to attend their accessory design workshop, I still pushed myself to attend this workshop even though the weather has been acting really sh*tty over the past few days. I wish I could be a fashion student or I wish I was enrolled in I-academy because this school really knows how to educate and train their students with both traditional and advance way of teaching and I interviewed one of the people of I-academy and she said that you can have a job even before you graduate "isn't that amazing?".

Hashtag Details. If you've been following me on Instagram since the day I created it, you will notice that I love to post pictures of the details of my outfits or the details of what I'm wearing in that particular day. It's just my way of showcasing and giving gratitude to the designer's hard works on creating that small intricate details and I applied that whenever I'm covering fashion shows, details first before the head to toe shot.

Looking through street style photos is a great way of discovering new trends and how to wear a piece of clothing in an unimaginable way. After Milan, Paris, London, New York fashion weeks, I instantly visit my favorite street style photographers website to check out their works and be inspired on what the attendees are wearing, not to let our self down personally I think the attendees there dressed a lot better than us in attending fashion shows. Everyone seems to look like an editor of a top magazine unlike here, I noticed that most of the attendees wore hideous and tacky outfits and only few people looked fine and well styled. I'm not saying that I have a great style or I don't need any fashion fix, in fact we all do need to learn and master what style fits and complements ourself.

Trilogy back in the hood

Adidas has launched its first Southeast Asia campaign for women, all in for #mygirls. The first phase themed around the girls’ love for dance highlighted the shared passion of dance between girls in Southeast Asia who rely on their peers and communities as a source of strength and play an instrumental role in inspiring each other to go all in.

Decked out in bold and playful colours, the behind- the-scenes photo shoot presented the upbeat, unique and energetic nature of the women. The stylish yet comfortable Techfit, CIimalite and Yoga apparel, coupled with the sporty adiPURE and Climacool footwear brought out the sassy and exuberant dancer in the girls.

#mygirls for Southeast Asia was launched simultaneously on 1 September 2013 in the Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam with regional ambassadors - Karylle (Philippines), Fay Hokulani (representing Malaysia and Singapore), Si Phitsinee Tanwiboon (Thailand), Maria Selena (Indonesia) and Nguyen Thi Kim Dung (Vietnam). This campaign was supported by Retail, PR, digital and online activations through adidas’ Facebook page (www.facebook.com/adidas).

Customers will also be able to get their hands on the Women’s Collection at shop.adidas.com.ph, serving as an online storefront for a wide range of adidas products including exclusive specialty items.

DANCE REVOLUTION: ADIDAS CASTS A SPOTLIGHT ON THE PASSION FOR DANCE

I'm not a fan of using JanSport backpack/bags because I find it too common and simple, been seeing a lot of students carrying a backpack from JanSport (the classic Jansport backpack). Even though Jansport has a lot of cool designs now (colors, different textures and print), I'm still not a fan and I can never see myself carrying the classic JanSport backpack.

Thank God! JanSport has again decided to team up with San Francisco graphic designer turned streetwear visionary Benny Gold, one good reason why I should eat the words I said in the last paragraph. The JanSport x Benny Gold Holiday 2013 collection consists of backpacks and a laptop sleeve all of which are inspired by Native American art. There are three pack styles dubbed “Guerrero,” “Duboce” and “Right Pack” and an additional 15″ Laptop Sleeve all of which combine Benny Gold’s distinctive aesthetic and JanSport’s quality construction. Each product features the same eye-catching print strategically placed on different sections of the pack, which is distinct to each style.

The collection will be available through select retailers and Benny Gold stockists from November.

"Dear God. Please give me more money or take away my expensive taste".

While walking down the street on my way home, I realized a lot of things. It was raining real' hard and I felt kinda' lonely walking alone on my way home. I imagined myself what will I be in the future?, when that day comes when I'm ready to separate with my parents and start my own life, before I used to tell to myself I'm ready to go on my own and live an independent life but that changed when my classmates/friends who are already living on their own told me that it's not fun living an independent life especially if you're just a teenager. I feel like I'm still not ready to separate with my mom and I'm still just a baby hiding in a big man's outfit.

If only God could give me a lot of money! Dayuum! I'll buy all the stuff at Hermes. I'll wear Hermes everyday, when I go to school, church, mall, grocery and palengke! hahaha.

I knew it! girls are fond of reading my blog! hehe even though most of the topics that I posted here are dedicated for my male readers, I always feel happy and kilig when I received a comment or an email from my female blog readers. I'm back doing this kind of post "I need help mail", helping my blog readers with their problems in fashion and grooming. Last Friday, I received an email from a reader who lives in New York "nuuks! international na! hahaha" and she's having a hard time choosing/picking what clothes to wear because she owns a lot (A LOT) of clothes and her wardrobe is really unorganized. I'll leave you with her concern.

Hi Michael,

My name is Anya, 23 years old, a female reader from New York. With all the fashion blogs that I read everyday, your blog stands out! and one of my favorites. I love your consistency, your style and your passion in every blog post you wrote "I really admire bloggers like you". Since you're one of my favorite fashion bloggers, it will be really awesome if you could help me out with my clutter problems. I just want to ask if you can give me some tips on how to organize my closet because it's real' messy and unorganized and also how can I update my wardrobe without buying new things.

Thanks Michael! and I hope to see you in person. Please do come here in New York and let's have coffee in Birch Coffee at 5 East 27th St.

Love,
Anya.

I need help mail: Editing your closet

Been seeing a lot of cool shoes especially sneakers from international brands latest collection/lookbook. I know some of us are still intrigued how Margiela can bring a little high fashion twist to the classic converse "chucks" from Converse's latest collaboration with Maison Martin Margiela "I think they already launch the collection today in New York". Before I used to love wearing chucks but it quite became a little bit boring so I started wearing different kinds/types of shoes like dress shoes, boots, gladiator sandals, brogues and sneakers "one of the key pieces or essentials that a man should have/own".

Reebok has a lot of awesome stuff for their loyal and new customers this season, in fact I've been eyeing on some of the sneakers from their latest look book for almost a month now. That is the effect of wanting so much but you can't have because of the things and money I spent last month of August and this month "Daaaamn! need to save a lot of money, to satisfy this very expensive taste of mine".

The Reebok Twilight Zone Pump is back this season in a bold pink and blue colorway. Made famous by Dominique Wilkins in the late ’80s and early ’90s, the Twilight Zone Pump is best known for its sky-high cut and pump technology. This blue/pink colorway features a blue leather upper with pink and black accents, a light blue suede strip running back towards the heel, and a black tongue with grey Pump logo; the bright upper rests atop a cushioned white midsole with black outsole.

Leather Situation

Power, androgynous and controversy.

“It was about making a new and sexy silhouette based off our staples, such as Ts and denim,” said designer Shayne Oliver backstage. This is probably one of the baddest and coolest ready to wear shows at New York fashion week spring 2014 I've seen so far, the whole collection screams grunge and androgynous street style at its finest. Vogue.com named/entitled this collection "the future androgynous". Hood By Air has moved forward and achieved an influential balance between streetwear and the designer world.

Bald chic at its finest!

Currently obsessing in this whole number/jersey fashion trend. I should better find one that has my birthday number on it "29".

Graphic tees! I looove em' all!!. Really diggin' this mountain graphic shirts.

I feel like I'm a sexy grown up man every time I play the song "Blurred lines" by Mr. Robin Thicke. The beat and the lyrics of that song is oozing with seductiveness and the way how Thicke sing it. Daaaamn! I just want to wear my sexy tuxedo, drink champagne and party all night "the elegant and classy way not the YOLO kind of partying". This is my favorite part of the song, the pre-chorus. "Bluuuuuuured liiiines".

But you're an animal
Baby, it's in your nature
Just let me liberate you

Blurred Lines

Photos! photos! photos! I just can't get enough of taking amazing photos using my camera and my tablet's camera. Last week is very tiring and I was very drained out, I remember I was walking in our school's hallway like a zombie plus the tired and exhausted eyes because I only slept for 2 hours (happens everyday). I can't wait for our term break. Here's another round up of my life outside the blogosphere, these are photos taken from my tablet. Hope you like it! and oh, don't forget to follow me on Instagram @michaelmacalos .

My so-called Instalife n°2

I am personally amazed how a blog or being a blogger can change a life. One of the many reasons I created a blog is because I want to share and express myself through writing, exposing my everyday life to a lot of people and showcasing my talents and skills in fashion, photography and writing. I'm not being honest with you guys if I not say this, the major reason why I created a blog is "I want to be famous" buuuut! that thinking of mine changed when I realized that there is more to blogging than aspiring/dreaming to be famous. I know fashion bloggers nowadays created a blog because they want to be a brand ambassador of a certain clothing brand or they want to be famous or they want to have a lot of sponsors and a mecca of clothes from different clothing brands but seriously guys? what happened to the famous blogger quote "I blog to express not to impress"? there's more to blogging than that people.

The September top picks

If I were to press rewind an event that happened to me this month of August, it would be the day that these photos were taken/photographed. That awesome day where I gave a talk about fashion blogging at one of the universities here in Manila; Polytechnic University of the Philippines, "lakas maka professional blogger ng pag nag ta-talk about fashion blogging sa mga tao especially to the students who want to start their own fashion blog and quite clueless on where to start". I have to admit it, I'm super clueless and I don't know where and how this blog of mine will take me to the next level, specifically the days where I'm just a newbie blogger, starting and want to be heard by lot people but with a lot of studying "looking at independent fashion bloggers website for blogging tips", strategies and connections. After learning all those stuff I finally made it! "the first three months of my blogging career, I'm about to give up because there's a lot of hindrances that keeping me away from blogging that time but I did not let those hindrances take away my dreams".

Stay tuned for my blog post about my very first fashion blogging talk at Polytechnic University of the Philippines.
