SIMON MILLER Fall Winter 2015, designed by creative directors Jake Sargent and Daniel Corrigan off ers a modern, minimal approach to Japanese f abrications and sensibility. The attitude is comfortable and sophisticated, focusing on textures, quality and local Los Angeles production. Natural Indigo and advanced washed treatments remain at the root of the brand alongside looped cotton and wool terry, sof t suede, and Japanese wool. The minimal utilitarian palette runs from deep indigo, olive, stone, and natural.
Deriving from the ease and relaxation of its menswear, SIMON MILLER off ers its second full women’s ready-to-wear collection. Oversized shapes, nepped wool and textured geometric patchwork make up the themes for the season. Key items include robed coats, asymmetric wool skirts, wide-leg suede pants and mock neck indigo shirting. For denim, the designers introduced an oversized, wide- leg fit to their existing women’s assortment which includes a wide- leg crop, motorcycle, slim boyfriend and classic fit.
Similar f abrication can be seen in the menswear - Japanese indigo dyed wool, green boiled wool and suede. Military elements are displayed in a classic parka shell paired with a matching liner. Sweats in wool cotton loop terry show a casual luxury while structured wool trousers bring elements of tailoring. The denim comprises of clean sophisticated f abrications in hues of indigo and greys alongside advanced washes.
In collaboration with designer Gigi Burris, a single hat silhouette in six f abrications, including f elted wool and beaver f elt, completes the contemporary head to toe look for the season. The silver and gold stacked metal jewelry for the season is provided by Spinelli Kilcollin.
The SIMON MILLER brand represents a re-interpretation of staples, designed in reliable fits and aged with uniquely developed wash treatments, creating a modern, lived-in f eel. The collection
is developed between the brand’s New York showroom and Los Angeles denim studio. Both spaces are an expression of the brand’s passion for raw material – juxtaposing industrial concrete with warm aged leathers and f aded indigos. SIMON MILLER continues to develop as a lif estyle brand dedicated to quality of material, a thoughtful approach to construction and fit, and a clean, vintage aesthetic.
